Bishops Restaurant to close...soon.

I want to get right to the point... Bishops restaurant is closing on October 29th.

In ten days the “Nutty Muffit” and “world famous onion rings” will be a thing of the past. This story however is not about food. Its about people.

I first wrote about Bishops in August of last year. As you may recall there was much talk about nearly 50 years service that this restaurant has provided in two different locations.

Imagine my surprise when I saw the following sign on the door today...

Bishops owner Denise Dorsey shared with me that the owner of the building was unwilling to make necessary improvements to the structure and his lack of action will result in the doors being closed for good.
After the surprise of the seeing the sign I had another thought. What about the 15-20 people who work there?
We customers are loosing place to eat.
The people who work there have lost their jobs.
From the owner on down, they will be out of work in ten days. Again, from no fault of their own.

From the sounds of it, there is little that can be done to prevent the closing. If your are a reader of this blog please consider making the trip to Bishops in the next few days. Provide some words of encouragement to the staff and reward their great service will “a little extra”.
You may never have another chance to thank them.
You have just ten days to make the trip. Order some rings and tell them Doug sent you!

This is not the fist time Bishops has closed, lets hope that they re-open soon in another location. Until then I will miss them!

Bishops is located at the intersection of US 30 and route 57. Hours are ...
Tue - Fri:10:30 am-8:00 pm
Sat:8:00 am-8:00 pm
Sun:8:00 am-3:00 pm
